1, 2021, Who runs the world? Black women. It’s no secret that Black women are the backbone of our society, but history and archaic policies have rarely treated us as such. This month, in celebration of Women’s History Month, we’re doubling down on our advocacy to uplift the Black women who uplift this country day after day. From the fight for a $15 minimum wage to the development of the coronavirus vaccine, Black women continue to push this country forward, yet we suffer the brunt of the structural inequities embedded into our nation’s systems. And, friend, it’s about time that we right that wrong. I challenge you, for the next 31 days, to do your part and support the Black women in your community. Here’s how you can do that:
We can’t possibly fit all our accomplishments and all our stories into
one month, but make no mistake, this month is all about us. Follow us on
Instagram, where each week we’ll be posting equal parts entertaining and
educational content about Black women, and also recognizing the Black women
working to make their communities better through our Phenomenal Woman
submissions. Fighting Fiercely,
